Ms. Chhay Sveng Chea Ath (President of CMA)

My name is Chhay Sveng Chea Ath with midwife bachelor degree. I was born in Phnom Penh in 1965. I’m married and live in Phnom Penh. I have been working for 35 years. Currently, I am a chief of Nursing Division of National Maternal and Child Health Center (NMCHC). I am also an advisor of training unit and a member of steering committee of NMCHC. In addition to this, I am a part-time lecturer at a midwifery school. Lastly, I have been a president of Cambodian Midwives Association since 2010.

The overall goal is to raise the professional standards of midwifery practice to the highest possible level.

Our Vision

The Cambodian Midwives Association (CMA) is recognised as the leading institution in midwifery profession to serve the public interest which aims to reduce maternal and newborn mortality and morbidity in Cambodia

Our Mission

To reach the vision, the Cambodian Midwives Association will ensure:

Provision of good care by midwifery professionals for women and children in all levels, especially in the community
Establishment and improvement of the implementation of midwifery professionals through the provision of the best quality to serve women, families and the community
Protection of rights and strengthening the role and responsibility of midwives with virtue, quality, honesty and effectiveness

Our Committee Members

Ms. Chhin Soknay (Vice President of CMA in Charge of Administration and Finance)

My name is Chhin Soknay and I am a midwife. I was born in Kratie. Currently, I am living in Phnom Penh City. I work at National Maternal and Child Health Center at Training Unit. I have worked as a midwife for 28 years, and I have been worked for 14 years at National Maternal and Child Health Center both as a clinical staff and training staff. I have become a Vice President of CMA since 2015. I am also a part-time lecturer at Midwifery School.

Ms. Heng Ngim (Vice President of CMA in Charge of Education and Training)

My name is HENG Ngim, a Bachelor Nurse and Midwife. I was born in 1974 in Kampong Cham province. I live in Phnom Penh city. I am married and have 2 children. I am a Training Unit Coordinator and a member of Steering Committee at National Maternal and Child Health Center. I am also a part-time Lecturer in public and private Nursing schools. I have become a Vice President of Cambodian Midwives Association since 2015

Ms. Doung Davy ( CMA Member of Administration and Finance Unit)

My name is Doung Davy, a midwife. I was born in Kampong Chhang Province. I am married and live in Phnom Penh City. I work in Gynecology Department at Calmette Hospital. I have worked as a midwife for 36 years. I have been working for 5 years in Emergency Department and I have been working for 8 years at Maternity Department at Calmette Hospital. I have become a Head Nurse of Gynecology Department in 2021.

Ms. Duch Sophath (CMA Member of Education and Training Unit)

My name is Duch Sophath, and I am currently a deputy head of Technical Office in University of Health Sciences responsible for the Midwifery Unit too. I have been working in this field for almost 40 years, so it becomes a part of my life. For my marital status, I have been married for 35 years with three children.

Ms. Yan Taingoy (CMA Member of Administration and Finance Unit)

My name is Yan Taingoy graduated with a Midwifery Bachelor and Master of Public Health Degree. Currently, I am working as a Midwife at Preah Angdoung Hospital. I was born on 4th May 1986 in Kampong Thmar, Kampong Thom Province. I live in Phnom Penh City. I have been working in the field of health for more than 11 years. I was promoted as a chief in Maternity Ward of Preah Angdoung Hospital. I am interested in establishing Collaboration with other partners working in the health sector.
